By Elizabeth Line

 

The Elizabeth line will make it easier, faster and more convenient to visit ExCeL.*

  • A choice of 12 trains an hour, each with a capacity of 1,500 people. Check routes for all or part of your journey on the Citymapper app.
  • Faster journey times across London so you can spend more time at the event, staying for that extra networking or learning opportunity.
  • State-of-the-art trains with Wi-Fi and air conditioning so you can travel in style and comfort.
  • Easy access to more hotels, restaurants and bars, as well as London's world-renowned theatre and shopping hotspots.
  • Direct links for national travel: Farringdon (for Thameslink services), Paddington (for Reading, Oxford, and the South West) and Liverpool Street (for Stanstead and the east of England).
  • Better connections for international visitors, including a 43-minute direct connection from Heathrow to ExCeL.

*The Elizabeth line operates Monday to Saturday.

By DLR, Overground & Underground

 

DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

The Docklands Light Railway (known as the DLR) is part of the London Underground network. Two of the stations, Custom House and Prince Regent, are on our campus. Trains pull up at a covered walkway leaving visitors with less than a two minute’s walk to the entrance.

Check your event listing for the entrance for your event. Alight at Custom House for the west entrance and Prince Regent for the east entrance and ICC London.

DLR services: All trains towards Beckton/Gallions Reach will stop at Custom House and Prince Regent.

 

London Underground

The Jubilee Line and the DLR are the quickest routes to ExCeL London. 

Alight at Canning Town on the Jubilee Line and change onto a Beckton-bound DLR train for the quick two-stop journey to ExCeL: Custom House for ExCeL (for the west entrance) or Prince Regent for ExCeL (for the east entrance or the ICC London).

London Overground

The London Overground, part of the London Underground network, serves a large part of Greater London and parts of Hertfordshire with 112 stations on several routes. The Overground is highlighted in Orange on the Tube map.

The DLR and Jubilee Line can be connected from multiple Overground lines such as Stratford, Canada Water, and Shadwell. It’s also possible to join the Overground and travel to ExCeL London from Euston station.

By National Rail

 

London is connected by rail to all major cities in Great Britain, with frequent services to all corners of the country.

Rail services in the UK are run by a set of private train operating companies. Your point of departure will determine the best service to take and at what station your train will arrive into London

c2c train operator runs services between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness. Alight at Limehouse station where you can connect with the DLR service towards Beckton.

By Car

 

Please note, from 25 October 2021, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) includes ExCeL London. Please visit https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/ to check whether your vehicle is subject to ULEZ charge.

  • You can download the ExCeL parking map which shows you the location of the car park.
  • If you’re arriving via the M11, the North Circular (A406) or the A13, as you get closer to ExCeL you’ll pick up signs for Royal Docks, City Airport and ExCeL London. If you’re using satellite navigation please enter the postcodes below.
  • You can also use the what3words app or go to the website, and enter the three word address stated below (each car park has a unique combination of three words). For more information on what3words, please click here.

Parking

  • There are 1,867 parking spaces across the Orange car park, located under the venue. 
  • Parking costs £25 for up to 24 hours at the ExCeL car park. Please note the Orange car park only permits vehicles up to a maximum of 1.9 metres height. 
  • It is recommended to pre-book your parking spot, please select the type of space you need and the date you are planning to attend.
  • To pre-book your parking space please visit the online booking platform here
  • If you have not pre-booked parking, you will need to pay at the machine in the car park lobbies or using the QR code displayed in the car park that takes you to the online booking portal.
  • All machines in the Orange car park accept card payments only.
  • 88 Blue Badge bays are available. There are clearly marked disabled parking bays in the Orange car park. There is a fine of £80 for parking in a disabled bay without displaying a valid disabled badge.
  • Several parking bays are located near the venue entrances; there are lifts to take visitors to show floor level.

  • Our motorcycle parking is free and cannot be pre-booked. Upon entering through West entrance (for entrance to the car park, use ///expect.likes.eager or E16 1XL), please follow one-way system as it will take you to upper level to designated motorcycle bays in Zone 2.

By River & Cable Car

 

Take the scenic route to ExCeL London by river or cable car, and turn your trip to the venue into a tour of London.

 

Travel by boat

  • With some of the best views of the capital’s most popular landmarks including Big Ben, the London Eye, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The O2, travelling on a river boat service offers a truly unique perspective on London. The route is serviced by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers; the fastest and most frequent boat fleet on the river with departures from major London piers every 20 minutes.
  • When travelling to ExCeL London, alight at the all-new Royal Wharf Pier. It takes just over 20 minutes to walk through Britannia Village and over the Royal Victoria dock footbridge to ExCeL’s west entrance. 
  • The Royal Wharf Pier opened in October 2019 and provides a 38 minute link into Central London.

  • Accessibility - All boats are wheelchair and pram accessible by ramp — all piers are wheelchair accessible except London Bridge, Wandsworth Riverside Quarter and Cadogan piers. Ramps are used for boarding.
  • Ticket prices - Travel from Central London to Royal Wharf from £8.70 when you touch in and out with Oyster pay as you go, or just £7.50 with a Travelcard — click to see a full list of fares here

 

London Cable Car

  • The UK’s first urban cable car connects ExCeL London to The O2 and North Greenwich tube station. On the cable car, you can sit back, relax and enjoy stunning aerial views of London from 90m above the River Thames.
  • All exhibitors and visitors to shows at ExCeL can use the cable car for just £3 single fare - to redeem this exclusive discount, all you need to do is show a confirmation email/ticket etc - something that indicates that you are attending an ExCeL event - to the staff at the terminals.
  • Journey time - A cabin arrives every 30 seconds and flights last approximately 10 minutes — except during peak commuter times when it runs a bit quicker.

  • Accessibility - The London Cable Car is fully accessible for most wheelchairs and pushchairs. It has step-free access, and you can even take bicycles on board!

 

By Bicycle

 

Cycle super highways are safer, faster and more direct, running from outer London into the capital.

  • Cycle racks - ExCeL London has free to use cycle racks located at the west entrance taxi drop off point, underneath the DLR walkway. The cycle racks are also available near to the east entrance underneath the stairway connecting Level 0 to Level 1.

  • We are very close to the cycle superhighway route CS3 which runs from Barking to Tower Gateway.

  • You can take your bike on the Emirates Air Line cable car at all times at no extra cost. Click here to find out more about taking your bike on public transport.
  • You can take your bike on the DLR during off-peak times Monday to Friday until 07:30, between 09:30-16:00, and after 19:00, and all day during weekends and Bank Holidays. Click here to find out more about taking your bike on public transport.

 

By Foot

 

Walking is a great way to discover the local area and can be the fastest way of travelling between stations.

  • ExCeL is approximately 20-minutes walking distance from Canning Town underground station and you can download the walking route map here

  • Visit the Royal Docks to explore the local area and join one of the guided walking tours.
