GETTING THERE

How to get to NEC, Birmingham?

By Car

 

Located bang in the middle of the UK’s motorway network, jumping in the car is the ideal way to get to the NEC.

You’ll find us clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 - just pop B40 1NT in your sat nav to get close, then follow the signs when you see them.

When you arrive at the NEC, look out for the show name you're visiting on our signs, East Car Parks are the closest to the show. After parking, simply jump on our free shuttle bus, or take a leisurely stroll along our signposted footpaths. 

Our postcode will not take you to the car park for your event, so please follow the signage.

By Train

 

Getting to the NEC by train is brilliantly easy as the NEC is located a five-minute walk away from Birmingham International Railway Station.

You won’t even need to brave the elements. Direct services run all day, however if you’re travelling from further afield you may need to catch a connecting train at Birmingham New Street, which is less than a 15-minute journey away. Just enough time to fuel up on caffeine!

Bus and Coach

 

Over 120 National Express and Megabus coach services run daily across the UK to Birmingham Airport.

From Birmingham Airport you can get to the NEC via the free air-rail link, which takes just 90 seconds and runs every two minutes.

Watch the world go by and travel in style and let someone else worry about watching the roads.

NEC has teamed up with TOA Taxis to ensure a safe, friendly service is available to you 24/7 at the NEC

You can book over the phone by calling 0121 427 8888 or 0800 0142 729, online or via their handy app. Alternatively, pick one up at the clearly marked ranks outside our main entrances. For added convenience TOA Taxis accept all major credit cards, subject to a charge of 10%+VAT.

Other Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles

If you plan to arrive at the NEC using other Taxi or Private Hire provider you will be dropped off at either the Piazza drop off and pick up area or the Atrium entrance.

At the end of your visit if you choose to use TOA you can be picked up by the main entrance, or if you are being picked up by other Taxi or Private Hire provider, you will need to go to the Private Hire pick up area.  You will find one located at either the Piazza or Atrium, a short walk from the main entrances. Birmingham Airport is right on our doorstep, so it’s hardly surprising we attract thousands of international visitors every year.

Simply take the free and fast air-rail link to Birmingham International Railway Station located at the upper level of Terminal 1. The train runs every two minutes and only takes 90 seconds. When you arrive just head straight through to the NEC.

Live locally and want to get to us under your own steam? 

The best and safest way to get to us by your own steam is to use the shared cycle footpath route to Birmingham International Railway Station and then the NEC is a short walk from there, it should take you about 10 minutes.
