ANNABEL KARMEL’S RICE KRISPIE HEARTS
MAKES: 6 – 8 RICE KRISPIE HEARTS
Ingredients
100g golden syrup
100g butter
100g white chocolate
50g Rice Krispies
75g porridge oats
50g dried cranberries, chopped
40g pecans, chopped
Pinch of salt (optional)
Method
1. Measure the syrup and butter into a saucepan. Stir until melted. Add the white chocolate and stir until runny. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well coated.
2. Spoon into 6 to 8 small heart shaped moulds. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours until firm.
3. Loosen the edges and turn out the Rice Krispie hearts. Store in the fridge.
ANNABEL KARMEL’S BANANA & OAT WAFFLES
Suitable for babies 9 months +
MAKES: 4 WAFFLES
Ingredients
225g ripe bananas, mashed
80g porridge oats
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
Method
1. Preheat a waffle making machine.
2. Measure all of the ingredients into a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
3. Brush the waffle machine plate with a little oil.
4. Spoon a quarter of the mixture into the centre of the plate. Spread out, pushing to the edges.
5. Close the waffle lid and leave for 5 minutes before lifting. The waffles should be golden and cooked through. Serve with sliced bananas and berries.
