Introducing The Kura Organic Baby Wrap

Kura Organics have become renowned for their stylish and sustainably designed travel wrap for babies. The wrap is a fashionable, practical alternative to a blanket or coat, offering a more comfortable and convenient solution to keep babies warm and snug when travelling in car seats and/or pushchairs.

The concept was formed when Amy Duffy and Kerry Greenwood - who are both mums to young ones - found that ensuring their babies were a safe temperature when travelling was more difficult than they imagined. They understood the safety aspects in babies wearing coats and worried that blankets could easily fall off, or even end up over the baby's head. This led them to realise that there was a gap in the market for something cosy, stylish and practical for parents to nestle their little ones in when on the move. They enlisted Amy's cousin Victoria Oakley, who has extensive experience in childrenswear design, and together they brought the ideal solution to life.

The Kura Organics wrap is made from the softest GOTS certified organic cotton, which was selected because it has a lower environmental impact. It is also designed with OEKO-TEX standard, non-toxic and baby-safe inks to make sure it is safe for delicate newborn skin. It is also functionally compatible with three and five point car seats and travel systems,

Victoria Oakley, product designer at Kura Organics, says:

"We chose to name the brand Kura as it means 'snuggle' in Icelandic - which describes our wraps perfectly. We see them as a modern, stylish version of a comfort blanket; an accessory that is always there to keep your little ones warm and cosy. We have used a combination of our professional and life experiences to and believe our products have become an essential product for new parents. We have all used or are using our Kura wraps with our babies too - which goes to show how much we believe in our product.

"Using organic cotton was really important for us, because we wanted our product to be produced with as little effect to the environment as possible. All of our packaging and labels are either organic, recycled, or can be recycled. The products we create today affect future generations, which is why the origin of the materials is really important to us. We are all mums and as a brand creating products for young babies, sustainability was a big consideration for production."

Safety has been paramount through the development of their products. As parents themselves, Kura wanted to ensure that their products not only make parenting easier, but allow you to relax and enjoy them without worrying. Whilst there is currently is no legislation in place governing car seat accessories, Kura went one step beyond and ensure that their products we officially crash safety tested.

Amy Duffy, co-founder and Kura Organics says;

"The safety of children and parents peace of mind is absolutely essential to us, therefore we‘re extremely happy to announce that our products have been crash safety tested. Our testing was based on the same type of testing performed for UN Regulation 129. Using similar test conditions that measure the safety of child car seats in Europe, it was shown that our product does not compromise car seat safety. We have also recently had our products crash safety tested in the USA too which again ensure that our products are safe to use."
