What is sterilising?

Sterilising is a special way of cleaning your baby’s feeding equipment including bottles, teats and breast pumps to ensure they are completely free from harmful germs that can make your baby ill.  During the first 12 months your baby’s immune system is still developing which means they are more vulnerable to germs than older children and adults. Common problems are tummy upsets (gastroenteritis), often caused by bacteria breeding in the milk or food traces left in bottles, teats and pumps, and oral thrush.

Sterilising

Mini Portable Soother Steriliser has been designed to deal with that everyday parenting dilemma – how to safely clean a dropped soother. BPA-free, small and watertight, it sterilises soothers on-the-go and can be popped into a changing bag. Solo Travel Steriliser

The Milton Solo Travel Steriliser is 2-in-1 microwave or cold water steriliser, ideal for sterilising when travelling or away from home. It cleans and sterilises bottles, teethers, plastic toys, breastfeeding equipment and other small baby equipment from 2 minutes in the microwave and in 15 minutes for cold water. Cold Water Steriliser (Sterilising Unit)

Used by health professionals on maternity wards for generations, it sterilises in 15 minutes with Milton Sterilising Tablets or Fluid. The unit’s 5L capacity holds up to six standard baby bottles. Also use to sterilise all breastfeeding equipment and baby feeding accessories. The lid and locking handle protect the solution for up to 24 hrs. Fitted with a submerger to keep all items in the solution, the pouring spout enables easy emptying.

Milton Trio

The Milton Trio is a 3 in 1 Electric Steam Steriliser with three core functions, sterilising, bottle warming and food warming. It was designed for speed and simplicity of use, and to make parents' lives easier by helping keep babies safe.

The compact design saves counter top space whilst still fitting five wide neck 250ml bottles. The TRIO’s steam system allows bottles, teats, soothers, plastic feeding spoons, breast pump parts, baby accessories or any other equipment going into baby’s mouth to be sterilized in just 10 minutes. Plant-based Milton Antibacterial Surface Spray offers a greener alternative to parents looking for non-toxic products to clean and disinfect their home. Formulated without petrol derivatives or chemical additives, and actively combats bacteria, fungi and the H1N1 flu virus.

Milton Baby Bottle Cleaner *

This eco-friendly product was designed to remove milk residue to ensure thorough cleaning of babies feeding equipment before sterilising. Plant-based Baby Bottle Cleaner is dermatologically tested and formulated for sensitive skin, making it kind to hands even after washing up multiple times per day. The transparent gel is fragrance, colour and paraben free. It comes in a 500ml, fully recyclable, dispenser bottle with push and pull pump, to release the correct amount of liquid to create a foamy lather. All baby-feeding equipment must be pre-cleaned to be sterilised effectively; milk often creates a white film on feeding equipment which can be difficult to remove especially around the rim of a bottle. Milk residue left on bottles, can create a dangerous breeding ground for bacteria growth.

Milton Antibacterial Hand Gel *

Milton’s new plant based Antibacterial Hand Gel is designed to help ward off germs. The gel is effective in just 30 seconds on bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, viruses and 99.9% of germs.

Milton, the leading expert in sterilising and hygiene further strengthened its commitment to families everywhere, with the launch of NEW Milton Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser in the UK. The first product of its kind suitable from three months old, the 100% plant based product is effective on 99% of germs – and biodegradable.

It’s the easiest way to keep hands clean and fresh when soap and water isn’t easily within reach. Made using natural ingredients, including lactic acid, derived from beetroot or corn, the sanitiser is moisturising, non-drying and soothing, according to rigorous dermatological testing. The green credentials formula is enhanced by recyclable packaging, no parabens, no alcohol and no colourants.

Milton Antibacterial Laundry Tablets

For use in washing machines at 30 °C, it negates the need for long cycles at high temperatures, preventing damage to clothing and reducing environmental impact. Kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including Coronavirus.

Perfect for disinfecting all laundry, whites and colours, from deodorising towels and bed sheets, to refreshing grass-stained sports kit, the tablets act quickly on stubborn stains found in babies’ and toddlers’ clothing, even at lower temperatures. Effective on durable items that are worn and washed regularly, such re-useable cloth nappies, bibs and baby grows, as well as delicate materials.

The tablets leave items hygienically clean, removing bacteria, yeasts and viruses, including Coronavirus. A pack of 12 tablets costs £5.20 and one tablet per wash is added to the usual laundry liquid or powder and fabric conditioner. Milton Antibacterial Laundry Tablets can be used in a machine washing or in hand washing.
